The Jocko Podcast
A Unique Approach To Empowerment
There is a wealth of content available in the world of business and life performance that is affirming, inspiring, and cheerful.
There is also another podcast out there now that approaches empowerment in a different manner than most. The Jocko Podcast is hosted by retired Navy Seal Jocko Willink along with his cohort in the studio Echo Charles.
Jocko is not here to motivate you. He believes motivation is a failed concept. He feels If you rely on motivation to get through the daily grind of life you will eventually get burned by it.
Discipline is the calling card for Jocko. Jocko touts discipline over motivation all day. Read More
We Buy “The Why”
“And the Golden Globe for the best podcast adapted show goes to…” could be a phrase we will all be hearing in the near future. In fact, I believe I may have heard an early rendition of it on the most recent awards broadcast.
I marvel at the juxtaposition of billionaire Steve Jobs and his mammoth, international corporation Apple having invented the iPod which ultimately gave power to the lowly individual to change the world.
With a single device, one can record an “iPodcast” and their lone voice could be heard around the globe at any time. It is this rugged individualistic counter-culture ability that gave Apple its appeal to its consumers. However, I find it ironic that the Apple Corporation, being a huge international conglomerate, has empowered the individual to change the world. Read More
How did it come to this for the Hart family? I am so shaken and sickened over this story. At points, I feel anger too.
I am angered at the thought of the foster care system being co-opted and corrupted for abuse, neglect, and ultimately a shocking end to young, innocent lives.
Broken Harts is a new podcast offering that is taking a fine-toothed, investigative comb to the death of 5 family members when their van sped rapidly off of a cliff and plunged into waters in Mendocino, California. Read More
I feel like I have said this about years past, however, it rings true once again, 2018 was another brilliant year for The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast.
Joe’s channel on YouTube has now exceeded 4 million subscribers. He smoked cannabis on-air with Elon Musk, revived Sober October, attempted to crack the code of life with countless brilliant guests, and created all sorts of other highly entertaining greatness on his show.
While Joe is a comedian at heart, it is when he attempts to deconstruct life or attacks current social issues with an open mind and open forum that have always most attracted me to his show.
There have been many moments on the JRE podcast that have sparked some considerable changes in my own life. My dietary strategies, my pursuit of fulfillment in life, and the way I tend to personal relationships, have all been shaped by Joe and his guests.
Now, let us take a look back at 2018 which was a banner year for Joe and his diverse and intriguing array of guests. Read More

True Crime Genre
The Podcast Explosion
The true crime genre for podcasts has hit the internet like a storm. This new wave of gripping productions seems to be serving a morbid curiosity that is encoded deep in the DNA of human beings.
Society has always had an interest in the macabre. Whether it is Dateline, 20/20, Cops, or even Dr. Phil in certain moments, true crime has always had major traction on television and through other media like books and films.
There is an entire television network dedicated to the genre, so this recent explosion in podcast shows makes total sense. The long-form audio format of a podcast allows the listener to not only get lost in the depth of the story but to also become privy to real audio clips from 911 calls and actual confessions recorded by the police.
If you are already a fan of true crime or if you are looking to get indoctrinated into this thrilling new wave of investigative entertainment, we have compiled the ultimate true crime feature for you. Read More

The Adam Carolla Show
My Introduction To Podcasts
I got my first Android phone in the summer of 2008 but did not make immediate use of all the newfound technology that was now within my hands reach. During my work days, I would leave my sterile office environment promptly at 1:00 pm like clockwork but still opted to grab my sporty AM/FM radio with the armband for joggers and tried to get in as many steps as the 45-minute break would allow.
I would listen to any non-commercial content that my AM tuner could pick up like NPR, sports talk, political discussions, and yes, even some weird guy broadcasting from the public radio tower a few miles away.
The walking and the thirst for something entertaining to listen to both served as reprieves from the mundane nature of the 9-5 grind. That was until I lost my job due to the looming financial meltdown… Read More
How To Be Amazing With Michael Ian Black
Michael Ian Black is a comedian, actor, author and he is also the sharp and seasoned host of his own podcast, How To Be Amazing With Michael Ian Black. Folks expecting Michael’s dry wit and heady brand of humor will be pleased for sure, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the How To Be Amazing podcast is ultimately a show about exploring the creative process and finding true fulfillment in life.
Michael Ian Black is disarming with his guests, builds great rapport, and asks all the right questions to unearth real gems of wisdom during his interviews. He gets beyond the superficial in order to uncover the building blocks of success, the inevitable pains of failure, and most importantly the persistence it takes to truly become amazing at anything.
